Short Abstract: The present Thesis has been dedicated to the study, development, and implementation of new methodologies to synthesize Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) based multifunctional composites. Accordingly, two main lines of work can be distinguished through the lecture of this Thesis: i) The synthesis of Janus metal@MOFs particles and their partial functionalization including asymmetric functionalization, magnetic-guidance and motorization; ii) the incorporation of active molecules into the MOFs through the creation of defects, and the use of the resulting composites in the removal of heavy metal ions
